What you can make with Animperia
Updated
Animperia is a 2D animation studio that runs in a desktop browser on Windows, Mac or Linux, with nothing to install. These pages go deeper into what it does. Each one shows how the feature works, step by step, and says plainly what it doesn't do yet.
Characters and drawing
- 2D character rigging: join a character's parts with the Bone tool, drag a wrist or an ankle and the whole limb follows, and check the rig with a wiggle test.
- Frame-by-frame animation: draw every frame on drawing layers, with a pressure-sensitive brush, an eraser, a lasso, a fill that closes small gaps, and onion skin around the playhead.
Voices
- Automatic lip sync: drop a voice line on a character and its mouth follows the words, on the stage, while you scrub and in the export, in English or any other language.
- Talking cartoons: draw a character, give it a mouth and your own recording, and export a video.
Making and sharing
- An online animation maker: how Animperia differs from template video makers and phone apps, and who each kind of tool suits.
- Free 2D animation software: free during the beta, no download and no watermark, plus the open-source desktop tools worth knowing.
- Exporting with a transparent background: see-through MOV and WebM, green-screen MP4 and PNG images.
The whole studio
The keyframe timeline, motion and shape tweens, masks, groups that play like movie clips, a camera you keyframe, sound editing and the library are all on the home page. What's new lists every update since the beta opened.
If you're coming from another program, the comparisons say honestly what carries over and what doesn't.
